I. Introduction
Human epidermal growth factor (hEGF) is a kind of micro-molecule polypeptide composed of 53 amino acids, with a molecular weight of about 6,000 Dalton and isoelectric point of 4.6. Due to the three pairs of disulfide bonds in its molecule, hEGF is stable to acid, alkali, heat and other physical and chemical factors. With a wide range of biological effects, hEGF can strongly promote the growth of various epidermal tissues, and has been applied in the treatment of burns, scald, ulcer, various traumas as well as the injury of corneas, etc. In addition, EGF can also promote the metabolism of normal epidermal cells, and adding it to the cell culture medium can support cell growth.

III. Storage and Transportation Stability
Routine storage at ≤-20°C, with no loss of activity for 1 year.
There is basically no loss of activity for 1 month after thawing under the sterile environment at 2–8°C.
IV. Advantages
Non-animal-derived product: Recombinant production with no contamination of exogenous viruses or use of animal-derived raw materials.
Stable quality: Mass production (over 10-gram-scale production and supply) to ensure stable and continuous batch production, with stable quality and no inter-lot difference.
High purity: High specific activity, with the residual host cell protein less than the limit requirements for biological products.
Lyophilized powder: Convenient for the storage and transportation.
Regulatory compliance: The manufacturing equipment and environment conform to relevant regulations, and the manufacturing process fully complies with the GMP Guidelines.
Dissolution: PBS is recommended, with a concentration of NMT 1 mg/mL. Prepare PBS fresh daily.
Recommended concentration for cell culture: 5–100 μg/L.
Recommended cell line: Vero cells, BHK cells, and diploid cells for the production of virus particles, etc.
Pluripotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells and muscle stem cells.
