Recombinant Bovine Insulin (RBI)

Storage: -20°C or below, protected from light

Source: E. coli (BL21)

I. Introduction

Insulin is the only hormone that lowers blood glucose levels in the body and is also a crucial synthetic hormone in living organisms, which can promote the synthesis of glycogens, fats and proteins. Recombinant bovine insulin (rBI) is obtained by biofermentation and purification of Escherichia coli (E. coli) expression system constructed by genetic engineering technology, with amino acid sequences consistent with those of bovine insulin. rBI is a highly purified, non-animal-derived active protein.

At present, rBI for industrial use is mainly utilized as an additive to animal cell culture media. Cell culture media supplemented with rBI can better mimic the in vivo growth and metabolic environment, which helps to accelerate cell growth, increase cell density, and promote stable expression of target proteins (viral titers).

This product is produced and supplied at the kilogram scale. Lyophilized powder is easy for transportation and storage.

This product has a mature and stable manufacturing process and also has good inter-lot stability. Regulatory compliance: The manufacturing equipment and environment comply with relevant regulations. The manufacturing process complies with GMP guidelines.

V. Use and Recommendations

Dissolution: Directly dissolve in 10 mM PBS. Prepare freshly before use.

Storage after dissolution: Adjust pH to 8.0 after dissolution, and if not used immediately, store temporarily at 2-8°C. It is not recommended to store under acidic conditions. Repeated freezing and thawing is not allowed.

Recommended concentration for cell culture: 2-20 mg/L.

Recommended cell lines: Bovine pluripotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and muscle stem cells;

CHO cells and HEK293 cells for production of antibodies and proteins;

Vero cells, BHK cells and diploid cells for production of virus particles.
